Discovery Day – Hedgehog Heroes

Discovery Day – Hedgehog Heroes

Enjoy a day full of discovery with fun, free and exciting activities in Hyde Park!  Find out more about the nation’s favourite species, hedgehogs!

There has been a worrying nationwide decline in hedgehog numbers in the last 25 years and the following activities are designed to raise awareness and help hedgehogs.

  • Try out some of the scientific equipment used to survey hedgehogs in the Royal Parks
  • Craft a hedgehog from a paper plate or colour your own hedgehog picture to take home
  • Become a hedgehog architect and design a hedgehog friendly habitat, then make your own clay hedgehog to live in it (£2 suggested donation)
  • Follow a Discovery Trail, uncovering prickly facts about our spiny friends
  • Discover what you can do to help hedgehogs in your garden

Wednesday 1st June & Thursday 2nd June, 11am-3pm

*Everyone is welcome (grounds are fully accessible) but the centre asks for no more than 3 children per adult and can only admit assistance dogs. Booking is not necessary – feel free to just drop in!*
